Three Kinds of Judging • If we would judge ourselves • v.28-30 let a man examine himself • Unworthy manner = notdiscerningLord’s body • Consequences of undiscerning partaking: • V.30 spiritually weak and sickly, and “sleep” • Consequences of discerning partaking v.31: • Then we would not be judged • Not guilty of Lord’s body and blood • Not spiritually weak

Three Kinds of Judging • Judge in first part of v.31is different than judged in second part ofv.31 • We must judge ourselves to ensure we do right • If not, then the Lord will judge us v.32: • But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord… • The Lord’s judgment is so we will avoid final judgment against us with the world v.32 • …that we be not condemned with the world

Three Kinds of Judging • The Lord’s chastening judgment is so we will avoid final judgment against us with the world • This proves God’s care for us Heb. 12:3-11 • Motive for church discipline 1 Cor. 5; 2 Th. 3:15 • Motive for Jesus’ sacrifice for all of us who have sinned Rom. 5:6-8 • God calls you now to believe in His Son (Jn 3:16),His sacrifice (1 Cor. 15:3), His love (1 Jn 4:16), repent of your sins (Acts 2:38) and be baptized into His death(Rom. 6:3)
