Partnerships for International Research and Education • Program Objectives: • Support research and education excellence • Provide meaningful international research experiences for U.S. students and faculty • Seek substantive intellectual contributions from international collaborators who bring unique capabilities to the research activity • Develop new collaborative models for international research and education

Partnerships for International Research and Education • Program Details: • FY 2007 Competition (preproposal stage) • 516 Preliminary Proposals received • 199 institutions submitted • All 50 states represented plus DC & Puerto Rico • Almost 30% were in ENG disciplines; 20% MPS; 16% GEO; 14% BIO; 12% SBE; 11% CISE • China most popular partner country

Partnerships for International Research and Education • FY 2007 Competition (full proposal stage) • 69 Full Proposals received, 71 invited • 58 institutions submitted • 29 states represented plus DC • Almost 30% were in ENG disciplines; 17% GEO; 16% MPS; 13% BIO; 13% SBE; 10% CISE; 3% OCI • China most popular partner country (10 props)
