  4. DEPARTURE: • Wednesday 22nd May 2013 • Assemble at School main entrance at 15.00hrs • Loading coach 15.05 @ Boundary Road • Parents must not park @ Boundary Road • Departure 15.25 at the latest! • Immediate family only please!(no pets)

  5. LUGGAGE: • One medium size case/combination lock! • Bring backpack or easily carried bag to use during the outings and on the coach • Make sure you have a SAFE way of carrying your purse and valuables. • Teachers are not responsible for loss of money and valuables on trips!

  6. TRAVEL: • Coaches provided throughout our stay • Channel crossing via P&O ferries over Dover. • Arrival at Hotel Cavaliere sur plage Thursday 23rd May at lunchtime.

  7. RETURN: Sunday 2nd June 2013 • Leaving Italian Hotel after dinner. • Estimated time of arrival (Boundary Rd) at 16.00 hrs • Please collect your daughter promptly we ALLneed to get home for a good & well deserved rest! • Pupils and staff are expected to: ATTENDSCHOOLon Monday 3rd June!

Year 8 Educational visit to Italy & France Itinerary 2013 – Lake Garda & Cote D’Azur Wednesday 22nd : Departure by coach at 15.25 (Boundary Road) Thursday 23rd: Arrival at lunch time at the Cote d’Azur PM: In resort at leisure by the seaside/pool Friday 24th : AM: St Tropez (Boat trip) PM: Port Grimaud Saturday 25th :Departure from the Cote d’Azur after breakfast Monaco / Montecarlo /Eze Village Perfume factory Arrival at dinner time in Lake Garda Sunday 26th : AM: Mass at Manerba’s Church. PM: Milan Castello Sforzesco /La Scala Opera House & the ‘Galleria’ Monday 27th: AM: Visit the charming town of Salo’ PM: Visit Sirmione (boat trip) Tuesday 28th AM: Desenzano market PM: Visit the charming town of Garda Wednesday 29th : Day in Venice - Boat trip to Murano and visit the Glass Factory Thursday 30th : Day in Gardaland Theme Park Friday 31st : AM:Shopping @ Manerba market PM:Visit Verona (Juliet’s balcony) Saturday 1st : AM: in resort by the pool. Departure after dinner Sunday 2nd : Arrival at Upminster at approximately 16.00 hrs (Boundary rd)

  18. SAFETY & SECURITY • On the coach: seat belts on at all times! Be considerate of the drivers, don’t make unnecessary noise and keep the coach clean. • keep rooms TIDY. Be considerate of other guests. • Personal – follow the same personal safety rules as you would in England. DO NOT GIVE TELEPHONE NUMBERS or the name of our hotel to anyone you meet. • Possessions : Don’t bring expensive jewellery or other valuable items YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!

  19. MONEY What’s included: FULL BOARD • How much to bring? Up to you – allow enough for extra drinks and ice-creams. Remember: You are responsible for your money!!! • Need to bring packed dinner or money for outgoing journey on ferry. Allow money to buy food for return journey. • Get your Euros in advance - no commission at Post Office. Ferry won’t give a great rate and will use up your time. • LOOK AFTER IT!! Ideally have it in waistband – not in obvious purse. Teachers are not responsible for your money & valuables!!! • €50 notes for hotel damage deposit to Mrs Esposito/Mrs Prowse only!

  20. INSURANCE / PASSPORT School insurance, as for all trips Do not forget: • European Health Cardfor EU medical insurance • Passport!!!

BEHAVIOUR: • Very high standards are expected as usual on the coach at the hotels and during all visits/outings! • Strictly: no red bull, smoking, alcohol, drugs! • Usual school sanctions will apply! • Meanwhile any miscreant will stay with a member of staff. • Parents and Mrs Williams will be informed immediately. • But it won’t happen, will it?

  22. Reply slips must be returned signed by parents to: Mrs Esposito or Mrs Prowse a.s.a.p please !!! • Home and emergency telephone numbers and medical information (allergies/ current medication, etc) to be handed a.s.a.p (Please state if vegetarian!) • Immediate family only at school drop-off/ pick up • Give your passport and health card to your group leaders at the Parents’ meeting on Wednesday 15th May. • Keep drivers happy and treat coach with respect ( no chewing gum, mess, screaming allowed on board) • Money (Euros) No recommendation on amount to take! Be vigilant and check your change at all times. • Bring costume jewellery – not gold/ valuable items • Bring medium size suitcases with combination locks!

Items to bring: mixture of clothes for all weathers – not just shorts! something suitable for church (elegant trousers & top) No: shorts/miniskirts/leggings/sleeveless tops& dresses / see-through clothes going out clothes cardigan/ jumper for evening light weight water proof jacket for water rides sun hat /sun cream / sunglasses swimming costume / towel / flip flops for use by pool sensible shoes/ trainers camera / watch / i-pod / MP3 players tissues/basic first aid kit, including plasters travel sickness tablets DVDs (no higher than 12 rating)

  24. Please notice: • Shoes must be worn alwayswhen getting off the coach and outside the hotel rooms (corridor/hall) • No swapping rooms without permission for health and safety reasons (in case of fire) • The trip is fully catered, so there is no need for extra food or excessive amounts of sweets. • Many of the journeys are scenic and the roads are quite winding. Therefore we find excessive sweet consumption causes unnecessary travel sickness.

  25. Remember:You are responsible for your own valuables not teachers!!! • Take any worries/concerns about any aspect of the trip to your group leader. • Be prompt for all meetings and particularly coach departure times. • Timekeeping – listen to instructions, be punctual at all times and keep to bed times…OR ELSE! • Accommodation – 3* hotel in France and Italy. We are the only school allowed here, so respect this and report any damage as soon as practical. Be considerate of other guests (no shouting, screaming, running, banging etc.) Keep rooms tidy (store suitcases away, do not leave towels on the floor, no food, etc.) Do not use towels to remove make-up or you’ll have to pay to replace them. • Only three people in the hotel lift at one time. • Do not give telephone numbers or name of hotel(s) to anyone you meet • We are ‘in loco parentis’ so no inappropriate behaviour! School rules apply. Mrs Williams and parents will be informed immediately. • Finally, make the most of this wonderful opportunity and have fun!

  27. Yr 8 Educational Visit: Lake Garda/Cote D’Azur 22nd May – 2nd June 2013All pupils MUST:Hand in their passport and health card to their group leaders at the meeting on Wednesday 15th May. Attend school on Wednesday 22nd in non-uniformHand in 50 euro notehotel damage deposit to: Mrs Esposito in person!!! The groups are for register purposes only. Your group leader is who you must report to any time you need to check in during the trip.
