  2. Gifting is an art and it is more than simply exchanging physical objects, it’s more of a way to communicate and send a message to the receiver. When you come up with unique gifting ideasandput some thought into the gift while choosing it, the gift transcends into a hearty wish for the receiver’s happiness. • On the other hand, a gift chosen poorly can send a negative message that might be considered insulting as well. For example, gifting someone a gym membership they didn’t want.

  3. Give by observing • Observation is the number one rule of giving meaningful gifts. Just pay attention what your loved ones or friends would really like to have. Usually, people keep dropping hints about what they like and prefer. Maybe your friend is a fan of some local music band. Book those singers in Mumbai to perform in their birthday, marriage or anniversary.

  4. Give by personality • You must consider the person who you are giving the gift to and what defines their personality. The gift should suit their unique personality, and it should convey that you really care about who they actually are. A travel enthusiast may like a leather bag. A trendsetter might enjoy some unique trendy items.

  5. Give for good luck • There are certain occasions, like graduation and housewarming, when you would have to give warm wishes and a gift that conveys prosperity and good fortune. For this need to get creative with the myths and symbolisms associated with auspiciousness. Own, agate, and moonstone, are all thought and believed to bring good fortune.

  6. Give for good cause • We all have atleast one person for whom it is nearly impossible to buy a gift, either because they are a minimalist and desires nothing, or is someone who already has everything he/she wishes for. In such a case, you can still win their heart by donating in their name to a charity or cause they support.

  7. Give by hobby or niche interest • If you know what your friend’s and relative’s hobbies are, you can perhaps gift them something that matches their hobby. If someone likes wine then you can perhaps gift them a vintage wine, or a unique wine glass set. But take care that you do not overdo it. If most of the people around you knows that a particular person likes elephants, there is a high chance that he/she would have more elephant-themed items and objects than she would know what to do with.
