  19. Vietnam - Two highlights of today • Dioxine pollution • Water resources in remote areas Only 3 donors engaged in the are of dioxines in Vietnam: • USA • UNDP • Czech Republic

Vietnam – dioxines Exploration and pilot sanitation of dioxine contaminated areas in Phu Cat • Justification: the place of implementation, the Phu Cat airport, is the third most dioxine contaminated place in Vietnam • Project activities: sampling of the contaminated spots, testing of sanitation methods, isolation of the most contaminated spots • Implementation period: 2009 - 2011

Vietnam – water resources Water-hole in Dong Van district, Ha Giangprovince • Justification: one of the poorest parts of Vietnam, most of inhabitants represent ethnic minorities, very few other donors active in the area, serious lack of water for 4-5 month every year • Project purpose: to provide access to quality drinkable water for the inhabitants of the district • Project output: optimalised actual water-hole for ca 10.000 inhabitants • Implementation period: 2009 - 2011

Kambodia • So called project country Ongoing projects: • Development of Sustainable Tourism through restorationof the Angkor Wat • Access to basic health services through the Takeo health centre • Access to basic education through the King Sihamoni School • Access to sustainable sources of energy through Bio gas stations for households

  26. Kambodia – highlights for the nearest future • Social and health services enhancement in the Takeo province (as a part of Debt Relief) • Promotion of Sustainable energy sources at local level through home bioplynové stanice Closely connected to CZ PRESIDENCY topic in development cooperation

  27. Georgia • So called project country Projects so far: • Social and Economic Development: street children, SMEs development + support of civil society Relief and Development activities since 2008: • power engineering, social services, construction sector, etc.
