Initial Setup

This guide outlines the steps for students to set up their accounts and join sections in SAM XP, following instructor-provided instructions. Students will learn how to launch the software, enter their I-Key, input a keycode from the SAM XP manual, and set up their profiles. After selecting and joining a section, students can check their acceptance status and choose from available scheduled exams. Technical support information is also provided for any additional assistance needed.

  1. Initial Setup Institution Key given to student by Instructor Student launches SAM XP from desktop

  2. Student clicks “New User.”

  3. Student enters I-Key given by instructor.

  4. Student clicks “OK.”

  5. Student clicks “OK” if Information is correct.

  6. (1) Student enters Keycode from back cover of the SAM XP manual. (2) Student Clicks “OK”

  7. Enter Prometheus username Student enters their profile Information.

  8. Student clicks “I Agree.”

  9. Student selects “Sections” button.

  10. Student selects “Join Section” button.

  11. Student chooses section from list at left and then clicks the “>” right arrow button to join the selected section.

  12. (1) Selected section appears in box on the right. (2) Student clicks “Save” button.

  13. Student is added to selected section. Student is informed as to whether they are accepted or on the wait list.

  14. The student can now choose from a list of available scheduled exams. Your Instructor will inform you when an exam is available.

  15. On subsequent logins, the student will use the username and password they created in the “profile” step.
