Climbing Teide • Teide can be climbed weekly trips are organised every week at least once. • 3rd highest volcano in the world EVER!!! • Active volcano erupts every 100 years • At 3718 m above sea level, and approximately 7500 m above the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, it is the highest mountain in Spain, highest point in the Atlantic Ocean and the 13th highest mountain in the European Union excluding the Alps

  4. 2.Anaga • Anaga is placed on the north-eastern peninsula. • This area and the Teno Mountains are the only parts of the island that were not covered by the volcanic eruptions that formed the Teide, about 600,000 years ago. The landscape is therefore entirely different from large parts of Tenerife • Again a beautiful place to see, the scenery is just amazing!! • Lord of the Rings was filmed there TRAVEL • Is better to drive there as driving is part of experiencing the WOW factor of the range • Bus/Taxi

Masca walk • Masca is one of the most picturesque parts of the island and is the tip of the northwest that is covered by the Teno Mountains. • Reputed to have been a Pirate hideaway, the small Bay of Masca on the coast is a three-hour walk from the village through stunning scenery • There is lush waterfalls on the way down some you can bathe in and in the heat its a godsend!!

MASCA WALK • DURATION: 3hrs without breaks, 4-5 hours with stops having lunch, waterfall bathe and for you photographers you’ll need 5 hours! • TRAVEL and LOGISTICS: 1 Bus/Taxi/Car to Los Gigantes Taxi costs €40-€45, Car arrange yourselves, Bus check out: http://www.titsa.com/ (as bus timetable is ever changing) 2 Taxi to Masca from Los Gigantes €20 per taxi/ 4 persons per taxi 3 Walk down Masca 4 Boat pick up from Masca €8 reduced price if you tell them you are AWF volunteers (pay this at Nashiro Uno office) For these 2 steps speak to Nashiro Uno office in Los Gigantes(located on the slope down to the port) Tell them how many people are walking and if you would like a boat to pick you up at the end of the walk.

  7. 4.SURFING • 5 minutes to the left of Monkey Beach there is a good surf point, perfect for beginners • Precautions are that it is a rock beach so be careful • Can rent boards and lessons for €10- € 15 along the beach there are many surf shops to do so • Taganana(Anaga) surfing is great with black beach, advisable to be an experienced surfer as sea is rough, rocks in water . Will need to take your own board too. • On other side of island so driving is best to get there and sleep over at beach overnight if you like.

Canoeing/Kayaking • Available at weekend in Los Gigantes • Meet at the port, 2 hours canoeing time, canoe near the cliffs (2nd highest sea cliffs in the world absolutely spectacular and canoe near fish farms which is where dolphins are found) • Reduced from €23- €20 More info @: http://www.tenoactivo.com/eng/index.htm Contact: 922 12 80 60

  9. 6.PARAGLIDING • Instructor:Roberto • Picks you up from Aroma cafe (near the supermarket and BP down the road) the takes you to the take off location • Normal price €90, for a small group reduced to€70 • Breathtaking views whilst you glide, an exhilarating experience for you adrenaline junkies! • Contact Roberto on 609261796 (connection varies as he lives high up)

Scuba Diving • More info at : http://www.divingblueplanettenerife.com/about_es.php • Presentations from the divers from Blue Planet come every Monday evening to give more info on what the offer • They offer OpenwaterPadi, Advanced, Rescue Diver and for you guys who want to just try it out a try dive. • Things you may see: Big sea turtles, sharks, rays, many types of fish, moray eels, water spiders, wrecks, starfish, sea horses and much more. • Prices: €25 for trial dive(beginners) reduced from €55 Qualified divers: € 100 package for 4 pleasure dives €175 Padiopenwater course

  11. 8.Puerto COLON • Many ports offer excursions lots of them advertised at Puerto Colon including: • Jet skiing • Parascending • Banana boating • Fly fish • Trips to water parks (bearing in mind LoroParque, Aqualand and Siam Park do have cetaceans in captivity) • Day trips to La Gomera island

  12. 9.Markets • Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos have cultural fusion markets with lots to offer for gifts and other bits and bobs. • SANTA CRUZ: Sunday market located near bus station • LOS CRISTIANOS: Markets Saturday and Sunday located near beach
