Strategy Design • Problem: Low graduation rate • Causes: Limited program options • Theory of Action: If we provide expanded and modified options for vocational training, more students will graduate. • Implementation: Expanded vocational programs and supports • Assess: Data show positive student outcomes Austin ISD CGCS 2010 www.austinisd.org, (512) 414-1700

Secondary Outcomes for Students with Disabilities • Graduation rate increased from 56% to 61% • 6 – 11% point gains in state assessments in all subjects • 32% of the class of 2009 confirmed post secondary enrollment • State Performance Plan Indicator 13 (Transition) improved from 26% - 75% • 100% in Ag/Horticulture class received OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification • 100% of hospitality class received Texas Food Handlers Certification • 8 students received Office Proficiency Assessment Certifications • 3 students interns hired post graduation at Dell Children’s Hospital • 4 students have jr. college credit banked Austin ISD CGCS 2010 www.austinisd.org, (512) 414-1700
