  2. Introduction Breaker! Breaker! Do you copy! Copy, Copy!..... Oh there you guys are. Hello astronauts of flight Apollo 37529. This is your captain Ms. Donnelly. You all have been selected for a highly important mission to cruise our very own Milky Way Galaxy. During this mission you will need to learn all the different planets in order, which planet is the biggest, smallest, and even how much you would weigh on each planet! Now lets get our gear on, get strapped in. Are you all ready? Let’s go! 5 4 3 2 1 LIFT OFF!

  3. TASK By the end of your mission, you all will know where each planet lies in our solar system. You will also know what planet is what by just looking at a picture of it without a name or anything telling you what it is.

  4. Process First you all need to get into groups of four. One of you will be the driver, one will be the scribe, and two of you will be the searchers of the planets. Once you all have decided who is what, you all will need to get a “space” journal to record your findings. Now the scribe will be the one that writes down all your information and findings. Next, the driver needs to take a look at the solar system, to see where the planets land in line starting closest to the sun. http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/AtHomeAstronomy/act09_planet_list.html After you’ve all decided where you’re going, pick two planets to research and memorize completely since you all will be presenting your planets to the class in whichever way you want. (powerpoint, poster board, song, etc.) *ELL and students will disabilities will accomplish a lot with this assignment by being able to work in a group since that is where they will receive help if needed.
