Happy birthday to you
“Happy Birthday to you.......”

Birthday’s are a very special time! We love to celebrate these in our own way in Year 2. It is very generous and kind for parent’s to bring in gifts for the other children but birthday cakes are not to be sent into school.

Responsibility and independence
Responsibility and Independence

  • From the very beginning of Year 2 we are preparing your child for KS2 .

  • I encourage independence and with the comes responsibility.

  • Your child is responsible for looking after their own things such as jumpers, coats and P.E kits and I will provide a safe place for them to be kept.

Our classroom
Our classroom

We are very lucky at St Edmund’s to have such fantastic classrooms bursting full with resources to help your child learn and grow to their full potential.

We ask that children follow our GOLDEN RULES very carefully and most importantly treat others as they would like to be treated.

  • Praise is a bit part of daily life in Year 2, we shout good news from the roof tops and find that encouragement and support helps children.

  • As well as praise we do sometimes need to sanction children for not following the classroom rules. We have a structured routine to follow for this.

A listening ear
A listening ear

If you have a worry or concern please come and speak to me. A teaching assistant will be able to help you regarding monies but all other issues please come to me.

When’s best?

If you have a message or something which can be dealt with quickly this could be done in the morning but if it is something which needs discussing it would be best to wait until after school.
