Sokolsky (HiRes spokesperson, PI, faculty): • currently supervises 2 post-docs + 2 graduate students • Overall leadership responsibility for HiRes program. • coordination of physics analysis • search for UHE neutrino events • UHECR composition analysis • proton-air cross-section measurement • Currently on sabbatical

Jui (co-PI, faculty): • currently supervises 2 graduate students • Supervises HiRes-1 monocular UHE spectrum analysis • HiRes-1 monocular anisotropy analysis • Overall Coordination of detector operations • Liason to LANL group. • Supervises HiRes-1 remote operations • Maintenance of network access to Dugway • Data handling and archiving • Liason to Utah Center for High Performance Computing • Director of ASPIRE outreach program.

Springer (faculty): • currently supervises 1 graduate student • Co-coordinates HiRes- stereo analysis • Coordination of data handling and processing • Coordination and supervision of detector operations • Supervision of on-site maintenance of HiRes-2 • Maintenance of Data-processing farm. • Supervises Official HiRes code library. • Maintenance of HiRes-2 GUI detector control system • ASPIRE outreach.

Martens (faculty): • Currently supervises two graduate students. • Analysis of stereo data. • Supervises the HiRes constants database, including the atmospheric parameters database system. • HiRes MC simulation code development. • Development of PMT calibration system. • Supervision of operation of HiRes mobile detector prototype and mobile laser system. • ASPIRE outreach and community relations.

Matthews (Program Manager, research faculty) • Direct management of all 7 undergraduate students. • HiRes-1 monocular data analysis • Supervises maintenance of HiRes-1 calibration hardware • Supervises HIRes-1 calibration and data analysis. • Supervises all conventional detector survey work. • Manages HiRes accounts and reports to NSF. • Coordination/Liason with collaborating institutions. • Coordination/Liason with U.S Army and Dugway Admin. • ASPIRE outreach

Wiencke (research faculty) • currently supervises 1 graduate student • Supervision of search for exotics in air showers. • Stereo data analysis. • Overall coordination of atmospheric characterization. • Maintenance of steerable lasers and assoc. hardware. • Maintenance of laser control computers and software. • Special data handling for atmospheric monitoring • Analysis of atmospheric monitoring and extraction of aerosol parameters.

  7. Utah Senior Personnel • Z. Cao (post-doc): • Coordination of MC code development and maintenance • Main developer of HiRes stereo reconstruction code. • Comparison of competing versions of MC code • Comparison of competing reconstruction algorithms • Supervises first “pass” final reconstruction of stereo events • Detailed studies of super-GZK candidate events • Operation & maintenance of main HiRes server computers • Management of user accounts on HiRes servers.

Huentemeyer (new post-doc since Mar. 2002) • Stereo data analysis. • HiRes-1 detector remote operations. • Operation of data processing farm • Maintenance of Data Processing chain. • Operation of HiRes PMT calibration facility. • Liason to SLAC group for fluorescence yield experiment (FLASH) • Analysis of preliminary data from FLASH • Calibration and simulation for FLASH.

Thomas (senior engineer): • supervises one technician • Maintenance of PMT calibration & scanning facility. • In charge of PMT calibration process. • HiRes-1 detector calibration and data analysis. • In-field maintenance and repair of lasers. • Supervises site maintenances for HiRes-1 and 2, as well as for the HIRes mobile detector prototype. • Management of HiRes vehicle fleet (8 vehicles). • Maintenance of housing and misc. facilities at Dugway

Smith (electronic engineer): • Designed and built all HiRes-1 electronic systems. • Developed all HiRes-1 on-line DAQ software. • Maintenance and repair of HiRes-1 electronics. • Maintenance of DAQ software. • Development of hardware and software for HiRes-1 redundant remote shelter door control/sensing system. • Development of HiRes-1 trigger upgrade. • Remote operation of HiRes-1 detector. • Expected to take over HiRes-2 maintenance in the future.
