  2. Today’s lesson Success criteria: • Discuss what environmental changes are (watch a video) • Brain storm ‘human impact on the environment’ • Research one specific example and its impact on a specific ecosystem. • Create a PowerPoint presentation

Research assignment I think as a scientist • talk to other people about what I think is happening, care about living things and the environment • listen to other pupil’s different ideas and keep an open mind. Act in a positive way towards living things and my local environment • decide who may have the best idea by looking at the evidence. Use evidence to make consumer and lifestyle choices • use evidence to justify the choices I make and appreciate that acceptance of an idea may be based on the evidence and discussion with others • use a range of gathered evidence to justify my position on personal, local and global scientific issues.

  4. Research assignment cont Your task: • Research one specific example of how human activity has impacted on an ecosystem • Create a PowerPoint presentation about your chosen human impact. It must include: • An introduction • Two different opinions on the idea • How it impacts on an ecosystem (food chain) • Possible solutions • Your own opinion about the topic • A video link • At least one picture per slide • Bibliography 3. You will present you slideshow to the class Email it to Mr Knyvett ktd@eohs.school.nz

  7. Today’s task Choose one of the naturally occurring things that impact on the environment and: • Explain what causes it • Explain how it impacts on the ecosystem
