Be sure to: • write in paragraph form • use complete sentences • use correct capitalization and punctuation • expand where appropriate • WRITE LEGIBLY!!!!

  3. Things You Must Have In Your Essay • Your name and anything you know about your name • Your birthday and anything special that happened on that day, either in history or anytime in your life • Your birthplace (City and State), and any interesting fact(s) about either • Information about your family and something interesting about each member • Favorite school subject and why • Favorite color and why • Favorite TV show and why • Favorite food/soda and why • Interests/Hobbies (movies, hunting, skateboarding, etc.) and why or when you started liking/doing it and why • What you want to do in the future (doctor, teacher, policeman,…) and why

  4. How Long Does It Have to be? • It needs to be long enough to address #1-10 above. Be sure to elaborate and explain the “who’s” and “why’s” throughout your essay. • YOU MUST HAVE A ROUGH DRAFT AND A FINAL DRAFT! • Your rough draft is your first copy which you will finish by Wednesday at the start of class and get looked over by people in class. • You will re-write, fixing all errors, your draft to make your final copy.

  5. Grading • The purpose of this essay is so I can assess your writing style and level. I will be grading based on FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS. • Each of the items 1-10 will be worth 10 points each if written in full sentences. You will also get a grade for neatness and using paragraphs (not just one long paragraph). • Your rough draft will be half of your organization grade • Your essay will be worth 200 points.

  7. About Me Poster • You are going to create a poster that SHOWS me all about you! • You MUST include the list of things below and you can use any CREATIVE method you chose to show me all about you: • magazine/newspaper clips • photos • drawings • collage, anything creative and interesting that expresses who you are.

  8. You Must Include: • Your name • Your birthday • Your birthplace (City and State) • Information about your family • Favorite school subject • Favorite color • Favorite TV show • Favorite food/soda • Interests/Hobbies (movies, sports, hunting, skateboarding, etc.) • What you want to do in the future (doctor, teacher, policeman, etc.) Basically all the things you put in your essay!

  9. Grading • Neatness/Creativity – You need to take your time in completing this assignment. Messy/unreadable work is not acceptable and will receive a low grade. Be creative in your presentation and SHOW each item – DO NOT simply number from 1-10 on your poster and write your answers. • Each required item will be worth 10 points. • You will receive two extra points for every piece of “extra information” you include about yourself. • Extra Information DOES NOT replace the required items. • You must present your poster to the class and will receive a presentation grade as well as a poster grade.
