  2. “The Necklace” Madlib (noun) desperately (verb) to achieve the lifestyle of the upper class, (conjunction) her relative poverty stands in her way. (Conjunction) when she receives an invitation to an elegant reception, she borrows a necklace from a friend in order to appear of higher social standing.
