Brief overview of the rehabilitation industry • Counsel individuals to maximize the independence and employability of persons coping with personal, social, and vocational difficulties that result from birth defects, illness, disease, accidents, or the stress of daily life. • Assess client needs. • design and implement rehabilitation programs that may include personal and vocational counseling, training, and job placement. (O*Net, 2008)

  4. My Competencies:Leading People and Teams • Mixture of transformational and transactional leadership style. • Able to lead teams of 2-300. • Able to build instant rapport. • Understanding of the team/relationship life-cycle. • Understanding counseling theories—specialty in reality therapy.

My Competencies:Developing Solutions • Able to make and record sound decisions under large amounts of stress (i.e. ethical dilemmas). • Understanding of laws, ethical standards, and the rehabilitation counselor’s scope of practice. • Effective collaborator and researcher. • Experience recording and overseeing the decision making process.
