  4. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES • Set up a Provincial Business Unit • Establishment of a Provincial Centre of Excellence (COE)  • Engage Government on all SBO matters relating to: • Poor road conditions • Licensing issues • Operations of Law Enforcement Agencies • Managing all Transport matters

  5. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES • Lobby Government to assist with a draft SBO Funding Model to access mainstream subsidy (e.g. set asides for SBO’s/negotiated contracts)  • Participating in Integrated Development Plans (IDP’s) and Integrated Transport Plans (ITP’s) • Design a Communication Strategy

  6. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES • Inline with national plans • Need the support of all stakeholders

  7. OUR SUCCESSES • Comprehensive database • Buy-in of all operators • 24 November 2010 • Meetings of interim committee • 13 February 2011 • Provincial Constitution • Strategic plan • Prepared districts for elections • Received buy-in from WC DTI

  8. OUR CONCERNS • Lack of recognition • Discussions only with middle-management • BRT rollout • Lack of further support (resources) • Provincial MOU • No provision for support services

  9. OUR WAY FORWARD • To finalize our formalization process • Implement our strategic plan • Benefit to: • Government • Industry • Commuters • General Public • Our social responsibility
