The role of sympathetic stimulation during exercise (the stress response): 1- pupillary dilatation (more light to the eye, increase visual filed.) 2- bronco dilation (better lung ventilation) 3- cardiac acceleration and increase strength of contraction (pumping more blood to the vital organs )
4- constriction of skin blood vessels . 5- shift of the blood flow from less vital organs to more important one (heart, C.N.S skeletal muscle). 6- increase liver glycogenolysis. 7- increase blood glucose and fatty acids 8- contraction of blood reservoirs.
9- adrenaline secretion from the adrenal medulla. 10- increase strength of muscle contraction (Orbell’s phenomenon) 11- increase in mental activity. 12- increases sweat secretion (for heat loss)
