  5. Design: • 40 x 180Wp modules • Coverage 53.5 m2 • Capacity 7.2 kWp • Predicted annual output: 5,575 kWh • Cost £31K (+scaffolding, electrical connection) • predicted saving £2.5K per annum • payback time c12 years

  7. inverter (in roof space) • direct connection to existing supply • generation meter (with display) • no moving parts = minimal maintenance

  8. Stage 2: Permissions (2010) • congregational board • planning permission • listed building • general trustees

  9. Stage 3: Funding (2010) £34K • LCBP2e 50% • E-on Source Fund • Scottish Power Green Energy Fund • EDF Green Fund

  10. Stage 4: Decision (Dec 2010) • LCBP2e 50% • loan from General Trustees • £5,700 from own funds

  11. Installation (Feb 2011)

  15. Financially: heading towards c7000 Units per annum = £3530 from FiTs + £105 from export + ?£500 reduced bills = £4000+ per annum benefit

  16. Environmentally: > 3 tonnes CO2 per annum less If all 2000 churches …. …. 6 kilo tonnes saving!
