In 1980’s: very popular, acknowledged school (about 1200 pupils) 3-4 classes in each grade missed opportunities (change of profile, improving training methods & technics) In 1990’s: reduction of pupils (about 400) in the old part of the town 2 classes in each grade (through of demographic wave, attractiveness of other schools) declining socio-cultural background (e.g. unemployment) more pupils struggling with learning difficulties and behavioural problems (about 15-20%) Short Presentation of the School established: in 1969 Elementary School & Boarding School N.2.

Milestones of the improvement journey • From 1996: • Participation in refresher courses • Participation in national „Comenius 2000” Quality Improvement Project (manged by The Ministry of Education) • Harmonization of partners (stakeholders) needs and operation of the school during the quality improvement process (based on EFQM/HPEQA) • Management of partner relations • Results of the „focus on partner” process Elementary School & Boarding School N.2.

Participation in refresher courses • We learned, because • there was a need to have order (& system) inside the school • systematic arrangement is based on actual requirements and information • there was a need to have results and efficiency indicators which could be quantified, measured and compared • we needed realistic conclusions and goals Courses arranged by: Ö n f e j l e sz t ő I s k o l á k Elementary School & Boarding School N.2.
