  2. Itinerary First Day Wednesday May 14, 2014 • 5:30 arrival at WFA • 6:00 am Departure from school (packed lunch on bus) • 12:30 pm Arrival in Philadelphia. Join your Tour. Lunch at your own expense. • Guide for a guided tour of historic Philadelphia: Liberty Bell, Franklin's , Print Shop, Franklin Court, Carpenter's, Elfreth's Alley , and more. • 3:00 pm Visit the National Constitution Center • 5:00 pm Dinner at The Hard Rock Café. • 7:00 pm Bowling at Wynnewood Lanes. • 9:30 pm Check into your hotel: Crowne Plaza Trevose

Itinerary Second Day Thursday May 15, 2014 • 7:30 am Breakfast at your hotel. • 9:00 am Visit Valley Forge • Time for lunch at your expense. • 2:00 pm Visit Independence Hall and Congress Hall (pending availability) and the Historic Christ Church. • 4:00 pm Tour the United States Mint (pending availability) • 6:30 pm Time for dinner at Pagano's Pizzeria. • 8:00 pm Enjoy a candlelight ghost tour of Philadelphia.

Itinerary Third Day Friday May 16, 2014 • 8:00 am Breakfast at your hotel and check out. • 9:30 am Franklin Institute Science Museum • Time for lunch at your expense. • 1:00 pm Attend IMAX Theatre at the Franklin Institute • 2:00 pm Climb the "ROCKY STEPS" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for a photo opp. • 3:00 pm Departure for home. • 6:00 pm Dinner en route at your expense. • 9:00 pm Approximate arrival back at school.

  5. Expenses: • The total cost of the 3 day trip is $390 (based on 40 scholars). Included in the cost: • Tour escorted by 1 professional Tour Guide for 1 days • 2 nights: Crowne Plaza - Trevose, PA • Roundtrip on a 55 passenger coach (wireless, television, outlets) • 2 Breakfasts & 2 Dinners (lunch daily and dinner on way home at students expense, plan accordingly) • All admissions to the museums, tours, and activities.

  6. Payment: • We have arranged through the tour company for ‘Participant Billing’ which means that you will be given a code to submit payments directly online by credit card. • You can also pay by check if preferable. • After initial deposit, all money will be paid directly to Gerber Tours. • A $75 deposit will be due along with the registration form by Friday, December, 20 in order to secure your spot. • If 40 participants do not register, the cost of the trip will go up. We suggest not paying more than the deposit until we reach 40 students. • Final payment due by March 22.

  7. Fundraising • Fundraising options will be available throughout the year. • Gift card fundraiser • “Rochester for Less” coupon books on sale immediately. Books cost $20 and scholars get $8 for every book sold. • If you want a “sample” copy of the book, they are available for a $20 deposit—it will count as your first sale.

  8. Drop off & Pick up Procedures • Students must arrive at WFA on Wednesday, May 14th at 5:30 am. • Bus will depart from Wilson Foundation promptly at 6:00 a.m. • No refund will be granted if you miss the departure. • Parent/Guardian must stay until bags are checked and student is on the bus. • Students will return to WFA at approximately 9:00 pm on Friday, May 16th . • Students must be picked up by an adult. No one will be allowed to walk home or catch an RTS bus alone at that time of night.

  9. Calling Home • Each scholar will call home upon arrival in Philadelphia. • On the return trip scholars will call as we get close to Rochester on Friday to help families arrange pick up around 9:00 pm

  10. Expectations: BEHAVIOR: • Scholars are expected to display good manners, courtesy, and understanding – please follow adult directions the 1st time. • Should a problem arise on the trip, parents will be notified immediately DRESS: • Students are expected to dress appropriately at all times. Pants/jeans (without holes or tatters) are acceptable. Midriff tops, spaghetti straps, and short-shorts, etc. are not allowed. T-shirts must be appropriate. • Please wear comfortable shoes as there will be A LOT of walking!!!

  11. Expectations: ELECTRONIC DEVICES: • Are okay to bring but subject to parent discretion (the school/district/teachers are NOT liable if lost/stolen/broken). • Students will need to put these away during tours and during all directions.

  12. Hotel Etiquette • Hotel personnel expect that a group of students with luggage in a hotel lobby will be considerate of other guests. It is important to keep the noise level down (“inside voices”) and keep luggage nearby and in an orderly manner. • HOTEL ROOMS: Make sure your hotel room is locked and you have your key at all times. • Keep valuables locked. Neither the group nor the hotel is responsible for money or any other valuables left in the room. • Students remain under chaperone supervision while in the hotel. • Students are not to visit or call other rooms. • Price based on 4 students per room.

  13. What to pack…. • Two days worth of clothes • Comfortable shoes/sneakers (lots of walking!) “Flip flops” are not allowed. • Three (3) pairs of socks • One jacket (could be chilly) • Pajamas (2 nights) • Underwear • Toothpaste/toothbrush • Shampoo/Comb/brush • Camera with name labeled on it. • Bag breakfast/lunch for day 1

  14. Luggage • You may bring one SMALL piece of luggage and a backpack, so pack carefully. • You are responsible for your luggage at all times. • Others may provide assistance in loading and un-loading, but your luggage is your responsibility. • All luggage should have personal identification tags on both the inside and the outside. • Luggage will be stored under the bus for the duration of the trip so put anything you will need (food/drink/ipod/phone/chargers) in backpack.
