  6. Nuremberg Laws 1935 • Restricted Jewish life • Deprived Jews of citizenship • Prohibited education opportunities • Prohibited government employment • Prohibited occupations in medicine, law, publishing

  9. Turning Point • Forced immigration of Jews out of Germany not optional • Hitler already considering invasion of Poland • Numerous camps already in place • Passivity of the people after Kristalnacht made it clear that the Nazis would encounter little opposition

New Laws were put in place Jews must turn over all precious metal, stocks, bonds, art and jewelry to the government • Pensions for Jews were reduced • Jews were physically segregated within German towns • Jews could not have a driver’s license, radio, carrier pigeon • A curfew was enforced; 9 pm to 5 am summer, 8 pm – 6 am winter
