  2. Objectives • To compare and contrast simple and compound sentences. • To explain the components of simple and compound sentences.

  3. WHAT IS Simple SENTENECS? • 1-Must have a subject and a verb. • 2. Must express a complete thought. • 3. Must only have one clause.

  4. . Examples of Simple Sentence: • Joe went to the store. • 2. Sarah and Jessie are going swimming. • 3. The frog jumped and landed in the pond. • 4. Can I have some juice to drink? • 5. The pizza smells delicious. • 6. There is a fly in the car with us. • 7. Look on top of the refrigerator for the key. • 8. I am out of paper for the printer. • 9. Will you help me with the math homework? • 10. The music is too loud for my ears.

  5. What is Compound sentences? • A compound sentence is a sentence with at least two independent clauses

  6. Examples of compound sentence • Sentence • In a compound sentence, the independent clauses are joined using one of the following methods • :A conjunction or fan boys with a comma (e.g., ", and") • I like tea, and he likes coffee.
