  • Bundle Integrity Federal Register
    • Strengthen integrity standard, by adding a recommended four-foot drop test
    • Require double-strapping and/or shrink-wrap on bundles less than one inch in height
    • No longer require shrink-wrap on all bundles prepared on BMC pallets
  • Expected to be published within the next 4 to 6 weeks
mixed carrier route bundle
Mixed Carrier-Route Bundle
  • Thin bundles are problematic in terms of integrity when strapped
  • It is difficult to create tension in the bands
  • One proposed solution would be to allow 5D CRs bundles that would result in sufficient pieces in a bundle to create strap tension
  • Single straps on CR bundles, then together double strapped into a 5D CRs bundle
  • Would require a new OEL
