  2. Introduction Do you know an insect that looks like an alien and is almost as hard to find as one? A praying mantis. You don’t see them every day.

  3. What does the praying mantis look like? • A praying mantis has a head, thorax , and an abdomen. It’s front legs are used for grabbing and holding prey. Praying mantises have six legs. A praying mantis has large round legs.

  4. What is the praying mantis habitat? • Praying mantises can blend in with toys. Praying mantises blend into their habitat . Praying mantises live in warm environments throughout the world. They live in forests, parks, fields and gardens where there are many plants.

  5. What does the praying mantis eat and how does it hunt? Praying mantises eat insects. Do you eat your food with a fork or a spoon? Praying mantises use their spikes to eat their food.

  6. All about praying mantises babies . • The female lays hundreds of eggs. Young mantises hatch from eggs in spring. They shed their skin many times before becoming full grown.
