  1. Code Enforcement Board Presentation to the Board of County Commissioners March 4, 2008

Code Enforcement Board • Has jurisdiction to hear and decide alleged violations of the codes and ordinances in force in the county • Has the authority to levy fines against those persons found in non-compliance with county codes • Meets third Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. • Financial Disclosure Required

  3. Code Enforcement Board • Seven members appointed on the basis of experience or interest in the fields of zoning and building control • Shall include, whenever possible: • An architect • A business person • An engineer/surveyor • A general contractor (currently not used) • A subcontractor (currently not used) • A licensed real estate broker or licensed real estate salesman

  4. Code Enforcement Board • Subject to the inclusion of certain professional specialties, each district of the county shall be represented by at least one member. • Mr. Jim Powers has resigned. He was serving in the real estate broker/salesman representative category. • All districts are currently represented on the board.

  5. Code Enforcement Board • ACTION REQUESTED: Appointment of an individual to succeed Jim Powers on the Code Enforcement Board with a term expiring December 31, 2008.
