  1. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo – The Next Chapter of a Dark Legacy When Jujutsu Kaisen wrapped up in 2024, most of us thought that was the end of the ride. The story of Yuji, Gojo, Sukuna, and everyone else had already taken us through enough heartbreak, battles, and mind-bending curses. It felt final. But Gege Akutami clearly wasn’t done with the universe, because in September 2025, a brand-new series dropped: Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (also called Mojuro in Japan). And honestly, it doesn’t feel like just a spin-off—it feels like the next chapter we didn’t know we needed. Modulo takes place decades after the original manga, which means it’s not about Yuji and his generation anymore. Instead, we’re following Yuuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. Yeah, you read that right—Gege made Yuta × Maki canon, and now their descendants are stepping into the cursed world. The series wastes no time setting up its new premise: a darker, more complicated future where the old battles are over but new dangers are on the rise. What makes Modulo different? Unlike the original JJK which centered mostly on curses and sorcerers, Modulo throws in something shocking: an alien race called the Simurians. They arrive on Earth as “refugees” but clearly have their own agenda, and one of them is already being compared to Sukuna in terms of raw power. That means the next generation isn’t just fighting curses—they’re dealing with forces on a whole new scale. The art is handled by Yuji Iwasaki, which gives the manga a slightly different look but still keeps the JJK vibe alive. The tone is heavy, the stakes are insane, and the generational theme hits hard—watching grandkids of fan-favorite characters carry that weight is honestly emotional. Fans were expecting a short spin-off, maybe two or three volumes, but the buzz around it is huge, and it wouldn’t be surprising if this “short project” gets stretched into something bigger. Why fans are hooked There’s something about Modulo that feels both familiar and brand new. It has the cursed energy roots of JJK but adds a sci-fi twist, which not only changes the battlefield but also the moral questions at the heart of the story. The mix of legacy, grief, and responsibility makes it clear: the world of JJK might move forward in time, but its darkness never really goes away.
