  • Students may not be aware of the environmental consequences of their actions.
  • Students lack of social responsibility.
  • Many students believe that paying tuition and technology fees justifies their behavior.

  • Throwing paper is throwing trees. Paper is made out of pulp derived from trees.
  • Americans throw away enough office paper annually to build a wall 12 feet high stretching from Los Angeles to New York City.
  • It takes about 17 full-grown trees to make a ton of paper.
  • One tree can filter up to 60 pounds of pollutants from the air each year.
  • “When we extract cellulose from wood to make paper we cut down forest but we use only 20 to 25 % of the trees, discarding the remaining 75 to 80% as waste” Capra
