  5. A Typical Week-END … • Friday AM • Fly to Beijing, Xi’an or Jinan • Friday PM • Visit Chinese Company or VC Office • Saturday • See sights like the Great Wall, ancient gardens and temples • Sunday • Recover from all the excitement

Key Details • Partners • Baylor University (School of ECS and Hankamer School of Business) • University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) • Thunderbird University (MBA students) • Program design • 2007 launch with 40 slots (~10 each from Baylor, Thunderbird, USST and China-based Exec. Ed.) • 6 weeks / 6 credits (Technology Entrepreneurship + China culture, history + Multi-cultural teamwork units) • Corporate partners include Honeywell & Dow Chemical • Mid-term trip to Beijing, Great Wall & Forbidden City • Day/weekend plant trips and culture/history trips

  8. Program Costs • Students will pay for 6 hours of summer tuition and their round-trip airfare • In addition, they will pay a $1500 program fee that covers: • Accommodations • Meals (during the week and weekends in Shanghai) • Planned Excursions

  18. Application Process • Passport • If you don’t have a passport, you need to get one as soon as possible: http://travel.state.gov/passport/ • You will also need a Chinese visa (tourist). We will send these applications in at one time (March or April 2006), and will need your passport, another passport photo, and a consulate fee of ~$50

  19. Application Process • Applications are due December 1, 2006, for early application • Applications are due January 31, 2007, for regular application • Late applications are subject to availability and a late application fee

  20. Program Fee • Program Fee includes: • room and board • excursions • Does NOT include: • Baylor tuition • airfare • books & supplies • other (unplanned) outings

  21. Program Fee: • Application Fee $ 300 • Late Application Fee $ 150 • Balance of Program Fee $1200 Total (on-time) $1500 Total (late) $1650
