  1. CTF3 UpdateR. Corsini for the CTF3 Team 1

  2. Run 1 – fast update • Consolidated factor 8 combination • Routinely operating with factor 8 this year, 28 A • Huge progress in reliability (3 TWTs, klystrons) – stability – repeatibility • Still working on dispersion control, emittance, transport to CLEX • TBTS • Nominal field level, large reserve in power • Wake-field monitor tests ongoing (renewed system) • Studies on multipolar RF fields, BD kicks, beam coupling studies, flash-box (Uppsala) • TBL • Not a lot of beam-time (vacuum leaks), some problem with high-current transport • CALIFES experiments: • Electro-Optical bunch length monitor, excellent first results! • BLM studies (diamond detector) started, continuation of BPMs… • Phase feed forward • Preparatory studies very successful (TL2 optics, bump closure, phase measurements…)

  3. Outlook • Still one week of operation • Window for Two-Beam Module installation: 23rdJune - 22ndSeptember(tight but…) • MDKs maintenance and other repairs/upgrades in the shadow of the module • PHIN run from 28thJuly • Beam-loading dog-leg experiment • RF conditioning from beginning of 7th July • Beam testing from mid August • DB preparation from 1st September (up to tail-clipper dump) • Phase feed forward • Amplifiers at CERN next week… high priority at restart • TBL • New PETS tank installed • High priority, work on high current transport • TBTS ongoing activities to be continued and extended with the TBM – • CALIFES experiments also to be continued

  4. RESERVE SLIDES

  5. Beam quality: Horizontal emittance: CR combination 8, end of TBL line in CLEX ~ 400 um Vertical emittance:CR combination 8, end of TBL line in CLEX ~ 140 um (target 150 um) Stability: Routinely < 5 10-4 from linac About 5 10-3 CR combination 8 Losses: < 10% CR combination factor 8 Repeatibility: Blue line: CR combination on 29 April, evening Red line: CR combination at start-up (no adjustments done) on 30 April

  6. Linac Delay Loop 1st turn Combiner Ring Status – 28 A in CR (factor 8) 4th turn

  7. Status – 28 A in CR (factor 8)

  8. Status – transport to CLEX, ~ 28 A before the wall (factor 8)
