Session Agenda • The SMARTboard allows you to: • Navigate by touching the screen (pointer and keyboard tools) • Write on the screen (pen tools) • Save what’s on the screen (notes, screenshots, etc.) • Create interactive lessons and activities (Notebook 11 software) • Examples of Notebook lessons •  Break out to four hands-on stations: • Cameras and recording (Elmo/digicam, screen capture, record functions)—Emily • Activity building— Mike Allard (Room 210A) • SMARTexchange and virtual fieldtrips—Kim Walsh (Room 215) • Free play • Return to group for: • Q&A • Share out how you see yourself using this in the classroom • How to download the Notebook software • How to move files (Googledrive and Dropbox)

  3. Navigate by touching the screen (pointer and keyboard tools) • Use the onscreen keyboard to easily edit text or type in a web address with the built in browser. • Use the pointer tool to drag and drop objects to build activities .

  4. Pen and Ink Tools Pen Tool: Write or draw in digital ink. Creative Pen Tool: Write or draw creative designs to use in your activities. Shape Pen Tool: Draw and Create shapes right on the board. Highlighter Pen Tool: When the highlighter pen is selected, you can either use a digital pen or your finger to highlight text right on the screen.
