  4. 3. Global Reach • SJ: multinational corporations, HQ in Rome; affiliates around the world… • Widespread grassroots organisations in contact with low-income, disadvantaged, marginalised • Largest pool of knowledge, expertise, etc in contact with decision makers

  5. 4. Advocacy in the Society of Jesus • Tap into the potential capacity to influence public policy for the common good • Build on already existing advocacy work, diverse, contextual, effective

Ignatian Advocacy • At El Escorial: • SJ= a universal body, called to work together • Networking not an option but a necessity • ?Does common action benefit all involved? • Some elements: • Insertion in the lives of the poor, marginalised • Rooted and anchored in the Spiritual Exercises • Discernment, study, analysis, reflection • Sent on mission (call of the King): to the frontiers, etc.,
