  3. 1988 – Congress passed legislation allowing VA Medical Centers to establish state-chartered not-for-profit corporations. This partnership broadened the VA’s ability to accept private and non-VA public funds to support VA research and education

  4. 1991 - The Missouri Foundation for Medical Research was chartered in Missouri The Missouri Foundation for Medical Research is a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization Gifts to the MFMR are tax deductible

  5. MISSOURI FOUNDATION for MEDICAL RESEARCH Encouraging Young VA Investigators through grants for pilot studies Supporting Young VA Investigators with administrative services and fund-raising
