NeoN background • Problem • No adequate ontology engineering infrastructure (at both methodological and tool level) for the whole application development lifecycle of the envisaged applications • Software crisis all over again • The NeOn solution (& the key target innovation for markets and society) • Major integrative effort needed to realise the potential of semantic technologies. NeOn will provide a radical ‘leap forward’ by providing the infrastructure needed to make large-scale semantic application development feasible and cost-effective thus lowering the entry barrier for organizations needing semantic solutions
