  • Relationship Experiences
  • 47% of girls had older partners, 11% had ‘much older’ partners
  • Physical Partner Violence
  • 18% boys reported some physical violence and 25% girls
  • Emotional Partner Violence
  • Nearly ¾ girls and ½ boys reported some emotional violence
  • Sexual Partner Violence
  • 1 in 3 girls reported some sexual violence and 16% of boys
  • Impact Of Partner Violence
  • ¾ girls reported their experiences as having a negative effect on their welfare. Generally boys reported little or no effects, other than making them angry
  • Post Relationship Violence

-many of the girls remained in the relationships and reported that if/when they left the relationship the violence increased

  • Divided into age appropriate groups:
  • 12 - 14 yr olds
