The fascination for pasta has crossed boundaries and encompassed languages, so much so that the instant pasta is mentioned; people light up automatically.   3. Pasta Facts for Pasta Lovers ● Noodle Pasta was actually not invented in Italy. It came from China, where the first-ever written record of Noodle Pasta goes back in time as much as 5000 BC. In the 12th century, Marco Polo brought Chinese Noodles to Italy, where it became the staple food of the locals. However, the Italians had already learned to make pasta through dough since 500 BC. They only adopted the noodle to create their famous Spaghetti pasta. ●Speaking of Spaghetti, it is actually a plural word in Italian. The word for a single noodle will be Spaghetto. ●Also, before machines were invented, Italians used their feet to knead the dough for making the pasta. This was because the pasta’s dough is rather tough.The worker’s used to walk an entire day to make a single batch.

In reality, tomatoes were actually not even present in Europe till the beginning of the 16th century. After Italy, Venezuela and Tunisia eat the most pasta. To give you an idea, Italians consume about 600 million kilometres of pasta, which is enough to wrap around the world 15,000 times. ●On April 1, 1957, BBC aired a documentary that showed spaghetti crops somewhere in Switzerland. It recorded people harvesting Spaghetti directly from the farms. As an attempt at April Fool's Day, BBC successfully created mass confusion in public who thought that pasta actually grew on trees, with some even wondering where they can buy their own Pasta plant. ●The world Pasta day is celebrated on October 25.

Pasta is made with two ingredients, water and flour. It is turned into a "paste" before the pasta is made with it.
