Professional Development • Central Florida NSBE Professionals Professional Development Series 2013-2014 • Series of five monthly workshops geared towards developing and mentoring graduating college seniors and preparing them to enter the workforce • 4-hour workshops each focusing on a specific subject • Guest speaker and volunteers from the NSBE CFP chapter with expertise in each specific area • Application period: 1 October – 25 October 2013 • Notification: 1 November 2013 • Participation confirmation: 8 November 2013

Professional Development Series 2013-2014 • – “Appear the Part” • Professional Expectations (e.g. attire, time management, etiquette, etc.) • Portraits • Career-Related Goals • Developing LinkedIn Account • Cleaning Facebook Profile • Professional Website (optional) • *Homework: Create business cards

  4. Professional Development Series 2013-2014 • – “Connecting with the Top” • Professional Branding • Networking Skills • Elevator Pitch • Interviewing Skills/Strategies • *Homework: Find your ideal position and tailor a cover letter & resume

  5. Professional Development Series 2013-2014 • – “Projecting Your Future” • Cover Letter & Resume Writing Coaching • Interviewing Skills/Strategies (continued) • *Homework: Find a mentor in your ideal organization (and bring him/her to next meeting, if possible)
