  2. No. 1 The 40th Anniversary of NSMC The 40th anniversary of NSMC/CMA is celebrated with symposia, exhibition and performance. We are grateful to those who were involved in this celebration.

  3. The Celebration

  4. No. 2 The Launch and Handover of FY-3B FY-3B was launched on 5 Nov. 2010 during the GEO Ministerial Summit. The in-orbit handover was held on 26 May, 2011. Since then, FY-3A and FY-3B have formed an AM-PM observing network.

  5. The Imaging and Monitoring of FY-3B The 1st visible multi-orbit mosaic image of China from FY-3B VIRR The Ozone hole over North Pole was observed by the FY-3B on March 14, 2011.

NO.3 1st Asia/Oceania Meteorological Satellite Users’ Conference The initiative of the Asia/Oceania Meteorological Satellite Users’ Conference was advocated by the NSMC/CMA and supported by the MeteoSat owners and users in A/O region. The 1st Conference was hosted by the NSMC/CMA in Beijing in conjunction with the GEO 7th plenary and Ministerial Summit in November, 2010. The 2nd AOMSUC will be hosted by the JMA in Tokyo in early December, 2011.

  8. No. 4 International cooperation • Bilateral Cooperation with EUMETSAT The 1st CMA and EUMETSAT Satellite Application workshop was organized in Beijing in May 2011. Satellite data acquisition and dissemination, strategy for the data exchange, data calibration and validation, satellite application were put on the agenda and discussed by scientists from both sides.

  9. Bilateral Cooperation with NOAA The 1st CMA and NOAA Satellite high level working meeting was scheduled for September and postponed to December, 2011.

  10. Bilateral Cooperation with INPE In Sep. 2010 and Aug. 2011, Dr Camara, Director of the INPE and Chair of CEOS 2010, made visits to NSMC/CMA. Both sides further exchanged views on relevant cooperative activities of the China-Brazil cooperation, and made specific proposals for the implementation of the memorandum.

  11. Involvement in international organization affairs CGMS NSMC/CMA will send delegates to the GEO Plenary in Istanbul, Turkey. CGMS held in St. Petersburg, on 3-7 October 2011.
