  3. this is all about us! Like the keystone in the arch our people make the difference to whether our pillars deliver for the business or fall. It’s as simple as that.

We aspire to be the first manufacturing company to be recognised as one of the UK’s top employers by becoming one of the top 100 places to work • Our business is made up of brands that bring moments of pleasure to every body every day, and our real people • This pillar is all about us – how we work together, learn and grow, how we collectively take the business forward and the tools and practices we use to help get us there • Fundamental to all of this is the ability to have great conversations which will be a particular focus in the first year of our 5 year plan • It’s how we will know the direction the business is travelling in, what we need to do to get there and the different parts we all have to play • Equally important a great conversation is the means by which we commit to our development plans, review our personal and business progress and agree any course corrections we need to make along the way

Our year starts with sharing the Casita, this sets out our goals targets and specific initiatives • We then move to setting objectives, agreeing development plans and reviewing performance • At each stage we have developed tools and programmes to help support our teams including - Coaching and Mentoring expertise - 360 feedback - Leadership skills development - SDI profiles • These will be developed further and added to through the year • We also have excellent work completed by the ‘unlocking our potential’ team last year to bring to life in the form of the Lion book

Making a difference together • Leadership • Use our coaching bank to develop a strong, focussed coaching culture • Develop the next generation leadership programme • Build strength in giving and receiving feedback • Step change objective setting - focussed, stretching, measurable. Emphasise improvements in setting and reviewing individual development plans

Making a difference together • Realising our potential • Train in and embed the toolkit for outstanding project delivery • Develop and deliver workshop sessions to improve all aspects of team working (communication, behaviours, roles and accountability) • Promote ‘great conversations’ in 1:1’s • Three-Six-0 • Develop a method for gaining 360 insight as a regular business as usual activity • Use 360 to input into personal development plans • Embed individual and team insight tools: Myers Briggs, Johari Window and SDI to improve overall performance
