Workshop design and co-creation Interfacing humanities
A word In Advanced • Design approach • Participate • Co-create • Empathie
Case • Imagine… • What would be a find of a lifetime? • Where would you find it? • Imagine.. • Your find is of a digital origin. • Hidden behind this inpenitral wall; your computer. • “What you gonna do?” (Call ghostbursters…!?)
Examples? • Do any experiences come to mind?
Define a starting point • Problem or need • The goal (in terms of use, added value) • Target audience
Warming Up (5min) • Brainstorm your bucketlist on post-its • Goal: • Generate as much ideas as possible (most ideas wins) • Rules: • All ideas are valuable • Be positive (Don’t say “no”) • There is no such thing as a stupid, weird or irrelevant idea • Shifting afterwards
What is your current approach? • Name activities when searching for relevant resources: • Brainstorm: • Group wise • 10 minutes
Who is your target audience • 1 Brainstorm (5 min), profile names • 2 insight within the user group, who has a need or dilemma (5 min) • (Empathize: What is your job, what are your needs, what is your bakcground, your age, etc?) • Brainstorm: • Group wise • 10 minutes
what are you looking for - 1 • Brainstorm: • Individually • One post-it per idea • 5 minutes
what are you looking for - 2 • Post-it grouping: 15 minutes
Intermezzo – Start of a Journey • User has an idea • Related to context • Related to content • …. • “No idea”
Design your users journey • Create 2 groups • Pick a target audience • Choose a subject; a destination and goal • Key questions in regards to the interface: • What approach will the target audience (user) take • What does the user want to do and when • What does the user see
1 – what functions are needed? • What should the user be able to do • Define a common goal • Brainstorm: • Generate ideas • Drawing and writing • 20 minutes
2 - what insights are needed? • What insights are of value along the way to reaching the users goal? • Generate ideas • Writing and drawing • 15 minutes
3 - What could the user interface look like? • Creation of a concept: • Take the ideas from the last two sessions and combine them into a logical order • Take the ideas and group them visualy on a piece of paper representing the interface
Present solutions • Present the concept to the group • Discussion
Thank you, Questions? • Thank you for participating the co-creation workshop
