Last 12 years the internet has grown by 566.6% Some interesting facts about the internet! • Every second 28, 258 internet users are watching what they shouldn’t! • 20 hours of videos are uploaded onto Youtube every minute • 247 billion emails are sent every day! • Teenagers spend of average 31 hours online every week
Internet 2013 Now going back to when the first real network connection in the late 60’s that showed the start of the internet phenomenon.
On October 29th in 1969 with the US Military funding of a research network came Arpanet. Arpanet was the first operational network to run on packet switching technology .
Arpanet was the first operational network to run on packet switching technology. With packet switching, a data system could use a single communications link to communicate by collecting data into datagrams and transmitting these packets onto the attached network link
