A quick review of the steps:
  • Creating an Action Button link:
    • Create the button by choosing a button style (in Slide Show  Action Buttons).
    • Most of these buttons are pre-programmed.
    • You can add text to the blank button style.
    • Assign an action to the button (in Slide Show  Action Settings  Mouse Click tab) by choosing an option from the Hyperlink to: menu.
    • Test it in the Slide Show view.

  • Creating a Custom Action Button link:
    • Create an object to use as a button by creating it with drawing tools, selecting an AutoShape, or by inserting a picture
    • Assign an action to the object (in Slide Show  Action Settings  Mouse Click tab) by choosing an option from the Hyperlink to: menu
  • Creating a Hypertext link:
    • Create a text box; enter label text to identify it.
    • Select the text itself – not the text box object
    • In Action Settings, select URL and enter the exact URL of the website to be linked
