  2. Where is France Located? • The borders are Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, English Channel, Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. • It is in Europe. There are rolling farm lands, vineyards, Pyrenees Mountains, sandy beaches. • France is located north of the Equator. • France Is located in the eastern hemisphere.

  3. What Is The Climate In France? • In the north it is wet and cold • In the south it is warmer, mild, hot and dry • In the winter it is cold- it is 45 degrees • The Atlantic ocean brings rain to the north and west coasts • On land east, it is much drier, cold winters , hot summers

  4. What Food Do People Eat In France? • Bread • Lettuce • Meat • Carrots • Onions • Ratatouille • Croissant • Bouillabaisse • Oysters • Crepes – sweet: chocolate chip or savory” cheese and ham

  5. What Do They Wear In France? • Jeans and sneakers mostly • Girls dress in long skirts covered with aprons on festival days • Boys wear long dark pants or pleated pants and brimmed hats on festival days • Boys and girls wear wooden clogs

  6. What Does France Celebrate? • Bastille Day on July 14: fireworks, marching bands • Christmas • Easter • Carnival • Lemon Festival: giant lemon sculptors • Wind festivals: fly kites and watch windmills

Life as a Kid • If you lived in France, you would try to dress in the latest fashions • France families tend to be small- like 2 kids • Many French kids go home and get a big lunch and then go back to school until 4:30 P.M. • They participate in a variety of activities • French Kids love watching their favorite soccer teams on television
