  1. What is network security? A beginner's guide to network security Our present world is dependent on active network connection. Work, school, classes, meetings, entertainment, business, and almost everything are online. A proper and uninterrupted internet connection is vital to have to make everyday work in a running state. With these growing dependencies of the Internet, it has become more vulnerable than in the past. Network security is an important concept to have a secure network connection. Most people are users of networks, but most have no clear understanding of this critical concept of network security. Network security professionals are experts on this topic, but not all know deeply about this vital topic. So here, we briefly discuss the network security systems.

  2. Definition of Network Security: Network security is a security process of tackling harmful virus attacks or any malicious outer attack in the network system and protecting the network infrastructure. It blocks all unauthorized access, stops data misuse, handles malfunction, and makes the network a safe place with proper working. Importance of Network Security: The Internet has become a part of our daily lifestyle; it has become an integral part of our way of living. But the Internet is not safe from malicious attacks. Nowadays, financial and essential data are available on the Internet, so hackers and attackers target the Internet to access the data. Attackers can also hack not only big organizations but the personal data of any person. So users need to protect their network system from unauthorized attacks to protect their own private and vital data. All the network security experts say that securing the network is the most important thing after having an internet connection. Implementing this network security also opens a new path of jobs and courses. Cyber security is founded on this topic. The paramount importance to have a secure network for all are, 1. Safe browsing: Whenever we open our browser for searching anything, malicious attackers using insecure websites can track and steal our private data. Network security makes browsing secure and stops these insecure websites from stealing data. 2. Protect financial data: Online banking, online payment gateway, online shopping, or online transaction, all of these actions expose financial data to the Internet. Without network security, these vital and financial data, like account numbers, can be disclosed to any hackers, and they can effectively

  3. steal money by using the data. So network security becomes of utmost importance while doing any financial transaction online. 3. Protect privacy: Nowadays, all gadgets are connected via the Internet, and also social media have many delicate and personal information of persons. So protecting the password of social accounts and saving photos, documents, and other information from hackers is very important. And this task is effectively done by the network security system. Implementing Network Security: Just knowing about network security is undoubtedly not enough. It is essential to implement network security to stay safe and protected. Network security certification courses include various ways to protect networks. Here we talk about some easy and effective ways to secure one's network from outside attacks. 1. Firewall protection: Firewall is a wall between your network and the outside attackers. This is software that needs to be installed on the machine and will act as a barrier. This wall does not give access to outsiders or any external networks. Users can typically define a set of rules to the firewall and grant access to trusted external networks or trusted outside users. In the market, many firewalls with different prices are available. Users can buy and install a proper firewall to their system to stay protected from outside attackers. All the network security engineers and network security expert say that having a firewall is the primary must-have thing. So it is better to buy a firewall while buying computers or laptops.

  4. 2. Virtual Private Network: Virtual Private Networks are commonly and popularly known as VPNs. This technology creates a virtual connection depending on another endpoint. Thi9s enables users not to disclose their network details and their physical presence. While using VPN, the data between two points gets encrypted, and there is no need for any authentication for using the network. Virtual Private Network gives users the freedom to browse securely and privately. 3. Antivirus and Antimalware Software: This essential protection software protects the system from virus attacks and malware attacks. While downloading anything from the web, many viruses get into the system, which can hamper the system, make the system slow, or even destroy the system. So virus and malware protection is essential for a secure network. And this software not only saves the system from virus attacks and protects it from ransomware attacks and keeps the user from huge losses. Users need to buy a good antivirus from the market, and by installing it, the system will get virus protected. No free antivirus software should be installed, as most of the free antivirus software does more harm than any good. Conclusion: Big organizations have network security engineers who are network security experts. They effectively handle the organizations' data; a network security certification course can also get into a network security job. And for everyday life, by avoiding tempting offers, unknown emails, and insecure websites.
