Its full name is Cardinal Grosbeak since its beak is unusually large. Cardinals are 8 to 9 inches long.
Cardinals live in woods, parks, and gardens. They are often seen in bird feeders even through winter. Cardinals eat worms, insects, and seeds. They are eaten by cats and Cooper hawks.
In the spring they have a brood of 2 to 4 chicks. Cardinals do not migrate in the winter.
In the spring the Cardinal likes to fly to the top of trees or roofs and call loudly. Its call is very easy to identify.
