  2. Quidimusterium For Dummies!( What you’re going to learn about) • Social Structure • Government • Religion • Culture • Military

  3. Social Structure. Your class is determined by where you live. Outside the wall, you have the slaves. The outer wall, you have the lower and middle class people. On the inner wall, you have the upper class. And in the palace compound, you have the nobles, kings, advisors and emperor.

  4. Government. The type of government implemented in Quidimusterium was a monarchy and the ruler was Emperor Quidimus.  There were advisers to help Emperor Quidimus govern the city-state, however he retained absolute authority and was not bound by their recommendations.  All citizens were inferior to the emperor and he regulated all aspects of life in Quidimusterium.  He wrote The Edict of Quidimus, which were his code of laws.  Quidimus was also responsible for building a well- organized and formidable army while maintaining peaceful relationships with neighboring city-states.

  5. Religion. In the city-state of Quidimusterium, there is a polytheistic religion called Quidiism. It is separated into four main categories of gods. The four divisions include the god of life, the god of death and the afterlife, the god of wealth, and the gods of the elements. The gods of the elements include gods such as Quidray, the sun god, Quidcipation, the rain god, Quidibeast, the animal god, and many more. These gods are prayed to when an element on earth has gone awry, and they need to ask the god for help.     Quidiism is very important to the people of Quidimusterium. Their main goal on earth is to do good so that they may get into heaven, the moral side of the afterlife. The afterlife is divided into two sections. A heaven and an underworld, the unmoral side. They are both ruled by the god Quideaven who decides which part of the afterlife they will reach after death.     The people of Quidimusterium pray to the gods in a mountain shaped temple. The temple is divided into sections, each section devoted to a particular god.    Quidiism is the one of the most important aspects of the people's lives.

  6. Culture. In Quidimusterium, the culture revolves strictly around their one and only emperor, Quidimus. The main aspects of their culture were art, literature, and sports. From sculptures to paintings, works of art flourished around the city-state. While it all looked beautiful, the townspeople didn’t like it too much because it all had to pertain to Quidimus. Perfection to him consisted of everything being large, composed from only the toughest materials, and it had to have the symbol of Quidimus on it. In Literature, short stories, fables, epics, narratives, and poems were created and told to all of the townspeople. Under the orders of the emperor, all of the literary works told great tales of Quidimus’s adventurous life. Most of the writings were never proved true. Fun actually did exist in Quidimusterium. Little kids and adults played games like our modern day “tag” and “dodge ball”. There was also an extreme sport in the city called Breadwinner. The smaller cultural points consisted of things like the food they ate, which was anything they could grow in their farms or catch in their river, and clothing, which was anything that was not the color black- since black signified power and only the emperor held power.

  7. An account of one of the many epics involving Quidimus in Battle.

  8. Military. The Quidiites practice a martial art called mortis pugat . The main defense of the city is its walls, if one is breached, everyone falls back to the inner walls. There are booby traps at the gates and there are also towers with archers.
