Some Use Family Situations • Families often justify each other • This then becomes the standard for them • Many in and out of the church change their views when a family member gets in a mess • Are we allowed to change the word of God to fit our unlawful situations • God is no respecter of persons

  5. Jesus Taught Lk 14:26 What if your family member never obeys the gospel 2 Thess 1:7-9 What if someone in your family becomes a Homosexual 1 Cor 6:9-10

  6. Some Rely On Emotions • That doesn’t seem fair • That doesn’t make sense to me • That can’t be right • Notice Ezra 10:10-11, 44 • What God says “makes it so” • Truth is not always easy to swallow • What about, Naaman-Fiery serpents- Jericho

  7. Man is “Not at Liberty” • Man doesn’t have the right or authority to make the call on what is right or fair when it comes to spiritual things • God is the sole authority • Jer 23:18-20 • Prov 16:25 • Prov 3:5-6

  8. Many Will “Look to Preachers” • Brother your OK ! • If my preacher says it’s OK, that is fine with me • Who has become the standard in this situation ?

  9. Jesus Made This Statement • John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. Do You Believe Jesus

  10. Do You Believe What Jesus Said • 2 Tim 3:16-17 • 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: • 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

  12. In Morality • Some say it only applies to Children of God and not to those outside of Christ • If one is not subject to God’s moral law then what law are they subject to. • What does this mean – I Cor 6:9-11,. Gal 5:19-21 • What about Rom 1:18, Rom 1:24-32

  13. In Marriage Law • God and God alone determines what is right in marriage Acts 5:29 • God has always had laws governing marriage Gen 2:24, Mal 2:16, Matt 19:3-9 • Still binding today on us all Mat 19:9 • Whosoever, it makes no difference who • Same Matt 19:9 as it is in Rev 22:17

  14. In Divorce • Does God have a voice in Divorce Mal 2:13-16 • Sin is the result of most divorces- no way around it • Jesus taught Matt 19:6 • Whosoever Matt 5:32 • Depart I Cor 7:11 • Notice I Cor 7: 10,11,12,13

  15. In Remarriage • Only two reasons given in scriptures for remarriage • Death Rom 7:1-3, I Cor 7:39 • Fornication Matt 19:9
