Content Standard.2.0:  Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones. • Accomplishment: Understand the place value of a three-digit number. Understand that the place values are ones, tens, and hundreds. Understand place values up to hundreds.

  3. Place Value Info • Our number system is based on 10. Using only 10 symbols. • Ones, tens, and hundreds. • 247 can be broken down into 200+40+7=247.

  4. Place Value Info • Place value is useful when pronouncing numbers. • We use the term digit when finding the place value. Example: In 223, the DIGIT 3 is in the ones place. • For where ever that digit stands in a number, it will represent a certain place value.
