  2. About GW6 • Formed in 2001 • One of 6 Individual Student Groups within the Department of Electrical Eng and Computer Science • School of Engineering (Grad Enrollment 2007) • 2740 students, 676 women (~25%) • EECS (Grad Enrollment 2005) • 890 students (20% women)

  3. GW6 Objectives • Promote social interaction between female graduate students • Foster a sense of unity and common identity among women within the department • Provide a support network and arena for discussing issues pertinent to women in academia • Promote personal and career development of female graduate students • Develop relationships between female graduate students and faculty members • Facilitate outreach to the community at large
