  6. Quality Assurance as A process which • Decides if we have met standards: • Identifies actions to Improve in areas where we have not met the required standard • Reviews implementation of actions = Quality Assurance Process

  7. Quality Enhancement A process which • Identifies actions to improve areas where we meet the minimum standards (making it even better). • Reviews implementation of actions

Why is Quality Assurance important • Standard of education can become internationally comparable • Ranking exercises (internal and external) • Maintains standards as education system (number of universities and students) grows • Improves public understanding (students, parents, employers) and helps with choice of provider

A Quality Assurance Circle 1 Assess if we have meet minimum standards • Identify how we can improve what we do • To meet minimum standards • To improve beyond the minimum requirements • Create an action plan • Implement action plan • Reviewing progress from previous evaluation and if we continue to meet minimum standards

  13. A Self Assessment Report • A document which assesses if minimum standards have been met • It identifies strengths, weaknesses, and areas for future development • Areas for future development form the basis for action

  14. Peer Review Visit • Gathers evidence from different sources • Uses evidence to evaluate institutions • Makes robust judgements against the MoHE’s Accreditation Framework • Reports to National Agency on findings • Makes recommendation to National Agency
