  2. Today, we look at 10 different ways to maintain positive mental and keep ourselves from losing our confidence and hope. Yoga and Pranayama Having a strong immune system is the need of the hour. Joining an online yoga course and learning pranayama can help you in coping with the mental strain of an uncertain future as well as day-to-day stumbling blocks in this unique situation Take Inventory of Reinventing Yourself Getting into a new routine or doing yoga or exercises will alleviate stress but it may not bring food to your table. COVID19 is an opportunity to reinvent yourself and work on your dreams that you have been putting on the backburner for a while. Making use of YouTube videos, writing, exploring freelance work, etc. can bring in new avenues of income. Indulge in work that makes you happy and find opportunities to derive an income from it. Discover and learn new skills to upgrade yourself. In the new normal you will be expected to know more than what you are supposed to know when you seek employment. Eat Healthy time and Sleep well It may sound rudimentary but eating on time and getting a full night’s sleep improves your digestion and REM sleep cycle reducing mental stress, anxiety and other mental issues almost naturally. Perspective and Mindfulness “If it can be solved, there’s no need to worry. And if it can’t be solved, worry is of no use.”– Dalai Lama. It’s all about perspective and a little mindfulness – a bit of both can give you clarity in uncertain these times. Spend Time with Your Children With social distancing and lockdown, it is a time to mend/bond/connect with our near and dear ones on a deeper level. Watch movies together, undertake DIY projects and set an example of how wonderfully you maintain your mental health for both your children and spouse.

  3. Take up a New Hobby Try something new; learns cooking with your partner and rekindles a bit of romance. Take an online calligraphy class. Watch some interesting documentary or standup comedy! Your mind will thank you for the interesting distractions and you will experience a wave of calm and happiness. Undertake a New Challenge If you are bored, take up a hobby or task as a target. Like 25 pushups-a-day for 25 days challenge, or learning to sketch in 3 months or setting up a business. Do whatever tickles your bone with an extra zeal. Focus on the Positive Remember – the entire world is undergoing some sort of suffering. Many do not have food to eat, a place to sleep and no tomorrow to dream for. If you have a roof above your head, food to eat and people who love you – you are already blessed. Count your blessings and feel the positivity that life encapsulates even in dark times. Set New Goals If you were dissatisfied with the past, career, money, etc., then this is the time to set a new goal. What happens tomorrow is not in our hands but we can control our present. Even if the threat of losing a job looms on you, having a will to forge will get you out of your current predicament. To sail through, setting a productive goal can make your journey easy. Seek Guidance Ask for help if you need guidance. Distance yourself from negative people. A positive outlook is what you need right now to keep going. Do not hesitate to seek professional help when you feel overwhelmingly burdened mentally. We need to accept the changes that are happening as a start. The world will never be the same after this pandemic and the new world after lockdown will need strong but baby steps towards rebuilding something we have lost or suffered. Although it is easier said than done, one step at a time is enough to do just that. Source: https://bit.ly/2ZYam8y
